Welcome to Term 2

Welcome back existing students and families! Welcome new students and families. We hope your stay at our school is a very happy and successful one.

Cultural & Community Events

At Cleveland Street Intensive English High School we have a code of values and beliefs. We value our cultural diversity.  As a culturally diverse school we have students, families and staff from many different cultural backgrounds who speak many different languages. We live and work together in peace and harmony.

We believe that it is very important that we value and recognise important cultural, religious and community events. A calendar of such events is drawn up each term. All staff, students and their families are invited to contribute to it.

Greeting of the Week

Each week we have a new greeting in one of the languages of our school community. Students and staff model the greeting on assembly. Assembly is held on Thursday mornings from 10.52am to 11.17am. An item about the particular language or culture or a piece of music or dancing can also occur. Staff use the Greeting of the Week with their classes and encourage students to use it with each other. It is one way of helping to encourage intercultural harmony within the school and within the community.
